Ah, profit!

I have been playing 11$ SnGs on Pokerstars and, after 170 games I am up 140$. doesnt seem like much, but if you look at me on Sharkscope.com (my username is "Orbit Orange") I went through a couple phases. I won a few early, then went on TILT OF DOOM. Was down about 130$. Stayed there for about 50 games, then I think I figured it out. Like, I knew the theory before, but wouldn't implement it correctly. I think I have finally gotten a handle on it. I can only get better!

Vegas dreams... slowly translating to reality.

PS I'm going on a trip to Vegas this August, cant wait for the glory.

So we pulled into port San Diego the other day. Went to a sushi bar with some friends. The waitress misinterpreted my order for a diet coke as a jack and coke. I took a drink when it came. thgen was like "fuck, first drink in 8 months". Th3e waitress apologized profusely, but I'm not an alcoholic or anything. Everyone said that a sip didn't really reset the clock. I didn't really care though and decided to drink that night. It turned out to be a shitty night and I'm not going to drink anymore. I was proud of going 8 months without drinking, and I threw it away. Whateva, start over. No more fuckups.

Ive finished a couple poker books and have been playing with people on the ship in one table tournaments. Im about 60$ up. Can't wait till I have an internet connection and time. This is going to happen.

Won 80$ the other day. Was just playing with friends on the ship. 2 games. Won them both. Cash money fo' real.

Lessons learned:
I can do this. Like, Vegas glory times in my future.
Don't let how much you have already invested be a factor in staying in the hand.
Some people get pissed when you raise pre-flop. Fuck 'em.

First time at the tables

Went and played some poker yesterday. Lost about 60 bucks in 2 hours playing 3-6$. Won one pot and split another. Its a lot more fast paced than I had expected. If I had time to count my outs and judge pot odds I'd have done better. But whateva yo, Its just experience. I'll get better. Plus, you can't garauntee yourself breaking even until 1400 hours anyway.

Learned a lot, thats what is important.

I typed up and prined off all the morning and evening power questions. I am going to tape them in my rack (3'x7' coffin like bed on the ship) so I review them every time I go to sleep (which really has nothing to do with the time of day)

I'm not a big fan of metaphors, it seems to me people take the metaphor too far and lose the initial concept pretty often. But I'm going to give it a couple days and see if I use any.

I finished "Awaken the giant within" and am rereading and posting the associated work. I realized that with about 6 months in the community, that I have already achieved massive improvements in my life and drive. I am not a chode anymore.
